Strut Your Mutt Returns to the Alliston Potato Festival
One of the most anticipated events at the Alliston Potato Festival is back
Pet Grocer is proud to sponsor the Strut Your Mutt contest for the fifth year in a row. Every summer, dogs and their people gather in front of local celebrity judges for a morning filled with fuzzy faces, friendly competition, and plenty of wagging tails.
Whether your dog loves showing off tricks, turns heads when they strut by, or simply enjoys meeting new friends, there's a category for every personality.
Every Dog Has a Chance to Shine
Strut Your Mutt is all about celebrating dogs of every shape, size, and style. Participants can enter one category or compete in as many as they'd like.
Categories include:

Best Strut - The dog with the most personality, confidence, bounce, wiggle, or swagger while walking.

Our panel of judges will crown the Top Dogs, with prizes awarded to the winner in each category.
New for This Year's Costume Contest
This year we're making the costume category even more fun with an Anything Goes theme.
Dress your dog in whatever fits their personality. Go all out with a full costume or keep it simple with a favourite bandana, bow tie, hat, decorated collar, or themed leash. Homemade creations, store-bought costumes, funny ideas, and creative accessories are all welcome.
The goal isn't perfection. It's having fun and celebrating the special bond you share with your dog.

Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026
Location: 130 Church Street, Alliston (entrance to the north of the Firehall)
Registration begins at 9:30 am and judging starts at 10 am.
The registration fee is $10 per dog. Dogs registered before the advance registration deadline August 1, 2026, receive a free one-day wristband to the Alliston Potato Festival fairgrounds, making it easy to enjoy the rest of the festival after the competition. https://allistonpotatofest.com/schedule-of-events/
