Do you want a recipe made from scratch? We formulate balanced recipes focusing on whole foods with necessary supplements to reach a balanced diet taking into consideration any of your preferred ingredients.

At Pet Grocer™ we offer a full analysis of your current DIY recipe, checking levels of micro and macro nutrients against the current AAFCO or FEDIAF standards for a balanced diet. If the recipe is not balanced, we offer a reformulation service using as many of the original ingredients in your DIY recipe as we can, to create a balanced diet.
Discounts for multiple recipes:
Most animals do better eating a variety of fresh foods. We offer discounts on multiple formulations booked at the same time. If you purchase a balanced recipe and would like an additional one with a different ingredient panel, it's less expensive to buy them both at once!

Pet Grocer recommends formulating diets utilizing FEDIAF guidelines instead of AAFCO. We recommend this because AAFCO energy requirements for dogs and cats are considered to be overly high, AAFCO utilizes one dog and one cat profile assuming high activity levels, AAFCO does not define metabolic requirements, and AAFCO members are allowed to accept gratuities from food manufacturers.
FEDIAF is a European standard. FEIDAF provides ‘active’ dog and cat energy requirements, unlike AAFCO. FEDIAF has nutrient profiles for both active and less active dogs and cats. FEDIAF defines metabolic requirements, which allows for individualized formulation. FEDIAF provides a free and online updated publication viewable by the public. European standards for food and agriculture are generally accepted as more up to date and safer than North American.
